Why sustainability, and why now? What does it take for a woman entrepreneur in Mozambique to start and grow a more sustainable business? These are the questions behind WE4A's new vodcast series, dedicated to the green transition and to the women leading green businesses in Mozambique.
Across the episodes, we share real stories and experiences of entrepreneurs who are driving sustainable solutions, creating jobs and contributing to more inclusive economic growth. More than success stories, these are testimonies of how sustainability and female leadership, together, can transform the country's economy.
Episode 1 · Real stories from the land
The first episode explores the importance of investing in female leadership and the multiplier effect of supporting women-led businesses in Mozambique. When a woman entrepreneur grows, the benefits do not stop with her: they extend to her family, her team and the communities where her business operates.
Supporting women-led businesses is therefore one of the most effective ways to generate employment, energise local value chains and make economic growth fairer and more inclusive. This episode shows why female leadership is not only a matter of equity, but also a smart development strategy.
What leads a woman to turn an idea into a business, and that business into an opportunity for her community?
In Episode 01, “Rooted and Growing: Real Stories”, we meet real stories of women entrepreneurs in the green sector: how they started, the challenges they faced, what keeps them going and the impact they are creating in their communities.

Episode 2 · Why green and why now?
The second episode delves into sustainability in entrepreneurship and answers an increasingly urgent question: why green and why now?
The green transformation is no longer an option for the future; it is a necessity of the present. Climate change, pressure on natural resources and new market demands make sustainability not only an environmental imperative, but also a business opportunity. Adopting green practices today means building companies that are more resilient, more competitive and better prepared for tomorrow.
This episode invites entrepreneurs’ women and men alike, to see sustainability as an engine of innovation and growth, and to understand that the green transition has to happen, and it must happen now.
