The Goodwell Investments WE4A Initiative supports women entrepreneurs driving climate transformation in Africa through a combination of technical assistance and financial support. The programme aims to scale women-led, climate-focused businesses by strengthening their operations, unlocking access to finance, and enhancing their overall impact.
The initiative targets women-led businesses operating in Kenya, Tanzania, Malawi, and Mozambique.
Programme Components
Technical Assistance (via NYUMBA)
Participants will gain access to an exclusive knowledge hub for impact entrepreneurs, alongside tailored business support designed to strengthen strategy and operations. The programme also provides practical tools, training, and guidelines to help professionalise businesses, while creating opportunities to network with a community of entrepreneurs driving climate solutions across Africa. This component is available to up to 100 participants.
Financial Support
Selected businesses will have access to concessional loans of up to €100,000 to support growth, as well as guarantees of up to €50,000 to unlock additional financing from financial institutions. Financial support is available to approximately 35 selected businesses.
Focus Sectors
The initiative focuses on high-impact, climate-aligned sectors, including renewable energy, sustainable agriculture, the circular economy, blue economy and aquaculture, eco-tourism, transport and logistics, and construction.
Eligibility Criteria
Eligible businesses must be women-owned or women-led, with at least two years of operation and demonstrated revenue generation, ideally above €200,000 annually. Companies should have between 10 and 250 employees and demonstrate a strong commitment to climate impact.

The programme supports the growth of climate-resilient businesses, promotes inclusive economic development, and expands access to finance for women entrepreneurs across Africa.
Key Value Proposition
All selected participants will benefit from comprehensive technical assistance, while a select group will also gain access to financial instruments designed to accelerate business growth and scale impact.
